Ascites is the most common complication of cirrhosis. It may lead to the consequence of poor prognosis and the deterioration of quality of life. Asopressin V2 receptor antagonists is a kind of vaptans, and it has been proved to be effective in hyponatremia patients. We conducted a meta-analysis about treatment of vaptans in cirrhosis patients with ascites.
323. A meta-analysis of the association between IL28B polymorphisms and infection susceptibility of hepatitis B virus in Asian population.
Several association studies with small sample sizes of two SNPs in IL28BB (rs12979860 and rs8099917) showed inconsistent results, so in this study, we aim to evaluate the association between the two SNPs and infection susceptibility of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) in Asian population, especially in Chinese population by meta-analysis.

There are different regimens of preparing the colon for colonoscopy, including polyethylene glycol (PEG), sodium phosphate, picosulfate, or oral sulfate solutions. We performed a meta-analysis to determine the efficacy of split-dose vs other colon preparation regimens, the optimal products for use, and the most effective preparation volumes.

Risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as obesity and hypertension, have been associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Psychological distress (symptoms of anxiety and depression) is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, so it might also be associated, directly or indirectly, with liver disease. We investigated the relationship between psychological distress (measured by the 12-item General Health Questionnaire [GHQ]) and liver disease mortality.

MicroRNA-21 (miR-21) is an oncogenic microRNA that regulates the expression of multiple cancer-related target genes. miR-21 has been associated with progression of some types of cancer. Metastasis-associated protein1 expression and loss of E-cadherin expression are correlated with cancer progression and metastasis in many cancer types. In advanced colorectal cancer, the clinical significance of miR-21 expression remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the impact of miR-21 expression in advanced colorectal cancer and its correlation with target proteins associated with colorectal cancer progression.

The pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) involves interactions between the host genetic susceptibility, intestinal microflora and mucosal immune responses through the pattern recognition receptor. Polymorphisms in toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) induce an aberrant immune response to indigenous intestinal flora, which might favor IBD development. In this study, we aimed to determine whether TLR4 gene was associated with Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) among Moroccan patients, and evaluated its correlation with clinical manifestation of the disease.
