Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a prevalent functional disorder of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, often accompanied by depression and sexual dysfunction. Depression and IBS may share similar pathophysiological mechanisms, making it essential to understand them for effective treatment. This study aims to compare the state of sexual function, depression, and quality of life in IBS patients experiencing depression with that of healthy subjects.

Palliative biliary stenting is the principal treatment for unresectable perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA) patients with jaundice. Endobiliary radiofrequency ablation (EBRFA) is a novel treatment used in combination with biliary stenting for CCA, aiming to prolong stent patency and patient survival. However, the evidence regarding its safety and efficacy in perihilar CCA remains limited. This study aims to investigate the safety of EBRFA and efficacy in terms of increasing stent patency and the patient's survival.

The production of autoantibodies against the enzyme transglutaminase 2 (TG2) in celiac disease likely results from TG2-specific B cells receiving help from gluten-specific CD4+ T cells in gut-associated lymphoid tissues (GALT) via the formation of transient enzyme-substrate complexes formed between TG2 and gluten. Where in the body enzymatically active TG2 encounters gluten peptides remains unknown.

Subjective well-being (SWB) encompasses both subjective happiness and objective factors. Colorectal cancer (CRC) prevention relies on early diagnosis and endoscopic resection of adenomatous polyps. This in turn depends on the quality of the performed colonoscopy. "Polyp detection rate, PDR" and "adenoma detection rate, ADR" are considered indices for quality of colonoscopy. This study aims to evaluate PDR and ADR, alongside the demographic, clinical, and pathological characteristics of colorectal polyps in an Iranian population. We also aimed to find the prevalence of colon polyps among different age groups.
