Studies have suggested an association between ischemic colitis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) although the results were inconsistent. This systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to comprehensively examine the association between IBS and ischemic colitis by identifying all available cohort and case-control studies and combining their effect estimates together.

Although the association between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is well recognized, uncertainties remain about the magnitude of this problem. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis assessing prevalence of PSC in IBD to investigate whether type of IBD, how presence of PSC was defined, sex, disease extent or location, time period, or geographic location influenced prevalence.

Helicobacter pylori infects approximately 50% of individuals worldwide. Successful H pylori eradication is associated with reduced risk of gastric cancer and peptic ulcer disease, among other conditions. We hypothesized that host genetic determinants, especially those affecting gastric pH, might contribute to eradication therapy failure, particularly when treatment adherence and antibiotic susceptibility are confirmed. We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis of host genetic variants associated with H pylori eradication failure.
226. Systematic review and meta-analysis: real-world data rates of deep remission with anti-TNFα in inflammatory bowel disease.
Deep remission (DR) is a treatment target in IBD associated with reduced hospitalization and improved outcome. Randomized control trial (RCT) data demonstrates efficacy of anti-TNFα agents in achieving DR; however, real-world data (RWD) can provide information complementary to RCTs, specifically regarding treatment duration. In this systematic review with meta-analysis, we use real-world data (RWD) to determine rates of DR in IBD treated with anti-TNFα.

We thus carried out a comprehensive system review and meta-analysis investigating the prognostic significance and clinicopathological features of SMAD4 gene mutation in CRC patients.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a well-established risk factor for hepatocellular carcinoma. Recent studies have also suggested a higher risk of several extrahepatic cancers in patients with chronic HBV infection, including gastric cancer, even though the results are somewhat inconsistent. The current study was conducted to comprehensively investigate whether patients with HBV infection are at a higher risk of incident gastric cancer compared with individuals without HBV infection using systematic review and meta-analysis technique.

In general, all virulence factors of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) are involved in its infections. However, recent studies have shown that the homB gene is one of the virulence genes that affects the severity of the clinical results of this bacterium.

However, knowledge of their worldwide and regional comparative efficacy is lacking. The risk of metachronous colorectal cancer (CRC) among patients with no adenomas, low-risk adenomas (LRAs), or high-risk adenomas (HRAs), detected at index colonoscopy, is unclear. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare incidence rates of metachronous CRC and CRC-related mortality after a baseline colonoscopy for each group.
