Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is a significant risk factor for liver-related disorders. Hepatic fibrosis staging by liver biopsy in these patients can lead to complications. This study aimed to compare aspartate aminotransferase/alanine aminotransferase (AST/ALT) ratio, AST to platelet ratio index (APRI), and fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) with FibroScan results for the evaluation of hepatic fibrosis in CHB patients.

RNA methylation is a crucial in many biological functions, and its aberrant regulation is associated with cancer progression. N6-Methyladenosine (m6A), 5-Methylcytosine (m5C), N1-methyladenosine (m1A) are common modifications of RNA methylation. However, the effect of methylation of m6A/m5C/m1A in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unclear.
3683. High-dose polyethylene glycol-3350 and gatorade solutions for patients with previous inadequate bowel preparations for colonoscopy are safe and effective.
Inadequate bowel preparation for colonoscopy remains an issue resulting in lower adenoma detection rates and increased cost. We assessed the efficacy, safety and tolerability of high-dose bowel preparations in subjects who previously had an inadequate colonoscopy preparation.

Immune checkpoint blockade therapy benefits only a small subset of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC), and identification of CRC-intrinsic events modulating immune checkpoint blockade efficacy is an unmet need. We found that AlkB homolog 5 (ALKBH5), an RNA N6-methyladenosine eraser, drives immunosuppression and is a molecular target to boost immune checkpoint blockade therapy in CRC.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease. The serum level of soluble CD163 (sCD163), a macrophage activation marker, is associated with liver tissue changes; however, its prognostic value is unknown. Here, we determined the utility of sCD163 as a marker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and prognostic marker for NAFLD.

Following liver transplant (LT) with duct-to-duct anastomosis, biliary strictures and leaks are typically managed with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and stenting. While multiple side-by-side plastic stents are typically used for management of anastomotic strictures, fully covered self-expandable metal stents (FCSEMS) can be used to decrease the number of ERCPs with longer periods of stent patency. The risk of migration can limit their use. FCSEMS with antimigration fins to manage benign biliary complications following LT may provide stricture resolution with limited adverse events (AEs).

Hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach (HAS) is a highly malignant and rare extrahepatic tumor. The prognosis is controversial because of its rarity and the lack of multi-center cohort studies, especially on the influence of serum Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) level on prognosis. We aimed to analyze the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of HAS, particularly the effect of serum AFP on the prognosis of HAS.
